10 reasons why not to travel to Yelagiri Hills on long weekends

Holidays and long weekends are good time to travel and enjoy a well-earned break. However, if you are a smart traveller, you will not travel during a long weekend. The long weekend can instead be a perfect time to discover your hometown or neighbourhood while everyone else is away. We have listed the 10 reasons why not to travel on long weekends. It is a good idea to sit back and relax and enjoy your long weekends.

1. Inflated airfares

The crush of people wanting to travel on a long weekend means you'll rarely find a deal that is genuinely attractive. Those who have to travel will face high airfares due to demand. This will be applicable if you travel to Yelagiri Hills from another City, State or Country.

2. Premium prices

The demand for hotels and resorts on long weekends will be much higher than the supply. So, accommodation will be costly anywhere you look during long weekend. The choices will be less and places that do have spare rooms will charge you through the roof. So, if you’re looking to relieve stress while traveling, high accommodation costs won’t help.

3. Cancellation policies are stricter

You may book rooms in advance for a weekend trip. However, booking rooms is different than canceling them. A lot of hotels and resorts have strict cancellation policies. You will not get any refunds on cancellations. This is because hotels are strict about long weekends that stretch for about 3 or sometimes 4 days. They won’t be pleased to lose a booking because of your late cancellations. You will find this policy is much friendly when it comes to regular weekend bookings.

4. Traffic jams

You will spend more time on the traffic than the time you would spend on exploring new places in Yelagiri hills. You will even spend more time to find a parking space for your car/bike whereever you go (Restaurants, sight-seeing places, etc.)

5. Queues everywhere

Long weekend lines can be long. Whether it's a boat house, nature park, or any other sightseeing places you almost certainly will spend more time in the queue waiting for tickets or bustling to the end of the line.

6. Madding crowds

Once you do get into your sightseeing place, the crowds don't miraculously disappear. You could be scrunched up against other people with limited breathing room. Sometime, the particular attraction might be closed due to heavy crowd. This might happen in Boat house.

7. Dire dining

“I'm sorry, your selection is not available”. You've been salivating over those Non-Veg or your favourite dish ever since you spotted them on the menu, but long weekends inevitably means your favourite selection is sold out. And after that disappointment you’ll have to accept the delay in the service. You might even have to wait for a long hour to get your seat in a restaurant.

8. Sold out!

Peak times means peak popularity so you need to do planning in advance and paying – ahead just to ensure you’ll get into the place you’ve travelled to visit. If your travel plan is not planned properly, then you might have to spend more.

9. Distressed staff

Extra crowds put extra strain on staff, too. So don’t expect the same level of service when you’re just one of an endless stream of people on the long weekend. You wil be treated special if you travel on regular weekend or weekdays.

10. The last resort

Resorts fill quickly for peak holiday times. So, you can’t stay where you wish or in your preferred room if you don't book your room in advance. And forget about any room upgrade on arrival.
