You might ask why we reveal "The Reasons not to travel on long weekends" even though we run Elite Resort and it will affect our business.
The answer to this question is that we will be glad to serve all our guests if they visit us in different dates but not on the same long weekend. We don't want the visitors get disappointed with non-availability of rooms on long weekends. If more visitors travel to Yelagiri Hills regularly on different dates, it will help the local Vendors and Shops to have consistent and regular business.
During a long weekend (3 Days) on October 2, 2023, never before in the history of Yelagiri Hills, around 1 lakh people travelled to Yelagiri Hills. Some of them were regular and 1 day travellers who returned on the same day itself without staying in any Hotel/Resort in Yelagiri Hills. Many of the other people had travelled to Yelagiri Hills without any rooms booked for their stay. These unplanned visitors were spending their precious holiday time on searching the rooms which were already occupied by those who reserved the rooms in advance.
The entire unplanned travellers on the long weekend also affected the planned travellers who had already planned their trip in advance with proper bookings and plan. The planned travellers also had to spend more time on the queues and on the traffics. All the restaurants were fully packed with the crowd. People had to wait around 1 hour on average to reserve/get their table in the restaurants.
We cannot control those who travel without any plans during long weekends. That will always be there during long weekends. However, this kind of lousy travel experience can easily be avoided, if regular travellers plan their trips on normal weekdays and weekends instead of on long weekends.
This is not a rule to be followed but a suggestion from Elite Resort for your comfortable stay and to have memorable experience.
